Meet the Team: Kimberly Thomas, Senior Onboarding Specialist, AVP

Kimberly Thomas, Senior Onboarding Specialist and Assistant Vice President (AVP) at Raistone, helps ensure fast and secure enrollment for new clients, making it quick and easy for businesses to improve their cashflow by working with Raistone.

With 15 years in the fintech industry, Kimberly’s journey shows her passion for finance and commitment to excellence.

Kimberly got her start in fintech at The Receivables Exchange in New Orleans, where she began in Member Services with invoice verification and fraud protection. “I remember one day, everyone called in sick, and I verified over 250 invoices. My boss said, ‘Kimberly’s never leaving Member Services!” she recalled with a laugh.

This early experience foreshadowed her unstoppable momentum. She did leave Member Services, joining the Trade Services department and staying onboard with LiquidX when they acquired the company.

Kimberly collaborated with her future Raistone colleagues, Mike Walker and Vivian Jackson, during this time, and ultimately joined Raistone in 2020. “Having those internal connections was a huge factor in my decision to come here. It felt like home,” she shared.

Originally, Kimberly joined the Payment Processing team at Raistone, and she has since become an AVP and Senior Onboarding Specialist on the Onboarding team.

The Onboarding team acts as a critical link between the Sales and Risk teams, ensuring a smooth implementation process for clients. “We’re the last stop before accounts go live. We verify all business documents and compliance details,” she explained. “It’s our job to catch anything that might be missing, ensuring we protect the company and serve our clients efficiently.”

Kimberly’s role allows her problem-solving skills to shine. She noted that she has always enjoyed solving tricky puzzles and tracing numbers back, remarking that it’s satisfying to find answers.

She also emphasized the importance of communication within the team. “We’ve built a strong relationship with Sales. Having biweekly meetings allows us to stay aligned and address any concerns proactively,” she said.

One of Kimberly’s favorite experiences at Raistone was the all-hands meeting in Utah. “Karaoke night with the Operations team was the highlight. We were all singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ together — it felt like a true team-building moment,” she said, reminiscing. This aligns with her commitment to empower her team, ensuring they know their voices are heard.

Beyond her achievements at work, Kimberly recently completed her MBA at the University of New Orleans, further enhancing her skills and knowledge. “I can’t sit still! I thrive on learning and pushing myself,” she happily exclaimed. She hinted a PhD could be next.

She is also a busy mom to four children, ranging from a college student to two young girls who are active in dance, cheer, and other sports. “I’m always on the go, but I prioritize me-time to recharge,” she shared. “Finding balance is key, especially with such a busy family life. I want to set a good example for my kids.”

Kimberly enjoys attending trivia nights and has even developed a reputation internally at Raistone as the undefeated trivia champion. Health and wellness are another important part of her life, and she enjoys water aerobics and running.
