Meet the Team: Alexi Kavourakis, Head of Originations & Co-Chief Revenue Officer

As Head of Originations and Co-Chief Revenue Officer, Alexi focuses on driving growth for Raistone and its clients with a strategic financing approach.

With over 15 years of experience in the finance space, Alexi possesses a wide breadth of knowledge in identifying the right financing solutions for businesses of all sizes across industries and how to approach unique funding structures.

Alexi began his career working in compliance at Standard Chartered Bank. After a couple of years, he transitioned to a role in client coverage, where he managed relationships with corporate clients in a variety of industries.

“Many of the deals I was seeing in this role were working capital finance related, so a move to a working capital finance specific role at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, made a lot of sense,” he shared.

After spending over 12 years working at large banks, Alexi wanted to move to a smaller company where he could help build a Sales team.

Alexi joined Raistone in 2021 as a Director of Originations and now serves as the Head of Originations and Co-Chief Revenue Officer. “Part of what drew me to Raistone was that, even as a new company, Raistone had a very clear mission and path that we are still working toward and expanding upon today,” Alexi explained.

Alexi welcomed the change in environment from a large multinational bank to an agile fintech.  “The ease of collaboration at Raistone is unmatched to any experience I’ve had. Everyone is willing to work together to achieve the same mission,” he said.

Alexi admires all of the industry experience across the Raistone team and credits the Risk, Legal, Distribution, and Operations teams for supporting Sales, allowing them to move quickly and secure financing for clients as soon as possible.

“One of the great things about Raistone is we can structure deals in unique ways that are specifically designed to meet our client’s needs,” Alexi said. “The working capital needs of every company are different. It only makes sense that our approach to financing is unique too.”

Alexi appreciates that the startup nature of Raistone allows him and his team to adapt to clients’ evolving needs as their businesses grow and the economic landscape shifts.

“Many of Raistone’s clients are in a space that is underserved by banks, and a lot of them face the problem of not having access to the financing they need to scale their business,” Alexi explains. “It’s great to be in a role that helps these businesses get the working capital they need and watch their businesses flourish.”

As Alexi continues to lead the Sales team at Raistone, he looks forward to continuing to watch members of the Sales team grow and take on more responsibility.

Outside of work, Alexi enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and staying active by playing golf.
